Platform crash and memory corruption via hypercall overflow

Integer overflow in affected IBM PowerVM Hypervisor firmware allows guest OS users with root access to corrupt hypervisor or partition memory. IBM identifies the flaw in the hypervisor call interface but does not disclose the affected arithmetic operation; a crafted call injects an arbitrary amount of data. Root access to a guest partition is required; exploitation corrupts memory or triggers a full platform re-IPL that terminates all hosted partitions, and repetition sustains the interruption.
