CVE-2026-17072

Four-byte heap over-read via incomplete bounds check

Published Jul 28, 2026 · Updated Jul 28, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in GStreamer on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 through 10 allows attackers to read four adjacent heap bytes via crafted media. gst_matroska_parse_flac_stream_headers checks off plus len against the buffer size but then copies len plus four bytes, omitting the FLAC header. A user must open a crafted Matroska or WebM file; Red Hat reports no direct remote observability, memory corruption, or likely production crash.
