Host state disclosure and disruption via BMC authorization
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Incorrect authorization in IBM Power Systems Firmware allows local users with BMC/FSP service or root access to expose and disrupt host state. The flaw is in the BMC/FSP-to-host interface, but IBM has not disclosed which authorization check fails or which operation omits it. Service-account or root control of the BMC/FSP is required; exploitation can expose host processor state and interrupt the managed system and every hosted partition.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=FW1060.00 <=FW1060.80
