CVE-2026-17039Network attack vector

Cross-realm certificate renewal via omitted authorization check

Published Jul 24, 2026 · Updated Jul 24, 2026

Incorrect authorization in Red Hat Certificate System allows remote authenticated users to renew certificates across configured realm boundaries. RenewalProcessor omits the realm-based authorization-manager check applied by EnrollmentProcessor before processing a renewal request. Exploitation requires a non-default AuthzRealmDefault mapping for multi-tenant or delegated sub-CA use and creates one additional correctly attributed certificate record without exposing keys, disrupting service, or altering the original certificate.
