Partition boot failure via out-of-bounds read
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in IBM PowerVM Hypervisor partition firmware allows remote attackers to block an iSCSI SAN network boot. IBM has not disclosed which partition-firmware routine reads beyond its intended buffer or which iSCSI input reaches it. Exposure requires same-network access while a partition is actively booting from an iSCSI SAN; only that partition's boot is interrupted.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
