Unauthenticated code execution via improper certificate validation
Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Improper certificate validation in IBM AIX 7.2 and 7.3 and PowerVM VIOS 4.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. IBM identifies bos.mp64 as the affected AIX fileset but has not disclosed the certificate-processing path or the validation check that accepts an untrusted certificate. Exploitation requires network access and high-complexity conditions; successful attacks can run code, alter data, interrupt service, and disclose limited information.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
