Payment bypass via unvalidated PayPal receiver account
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Improper access control in Accept PayPal & Stripe with Subscriptions for WooCommerce before 4.0.0 allows remote attackers to complete unpaid orders. The PayPal Standard IPN handler accepts a genuine VERIFIED notification after a buyer changes the client-side business recipient, then marks the order paid despite receiver_email mismatching the merchant account. Exploitation requires PayPal Standard checkout and an attacker-controlled PayPal account; the merchant can fulfill an order without receiving its payment.
