CVE-2026-1699Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated CI code execution via untrusted checkout

Published Jan 30, 2026 · Updated Jan 30, 2026

Remote code execution in Eclipse Theia Website allows remote attackers to run arbitrary commands in privileged CI via a malicious pull request. The .github/workflows/preview.yml job uses pull_request_target, checks out attacker-controlled code, and runs its npm commands with repository secrets and a write-enabled token. Any GitHub user able to open a pull request can expose secrets or alter repository code, packages, workflows, and the official website.
