Subscriber-level disclosure via unchecked AJAX actions
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Broken access control in WPMU DEV SmartCrawl before 3.16.3 allows remote authenticated users to read private post titles and post-meta key names. Two authenticated AJAX handlers accept caller-supplied post IDs without checking whether the caller can view the referenced post or its metadata. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the disclosed names expose unpublished editorial information without granting content modification.
