Author-level stored XSS via unsanitized custom pages
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Wise IT WP Custom HTML Page 0.6.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript via custom pages. The custom page handler saves the html_code meta field without sanitizing it or checking unfiltered_html, then serves that value unescaped at its public permalink. Author access is sufficient; the script executes in each visitor's browser, including an administrator's authenticated session.
