CVE-2026-16933

Host takeover via BMC/FSP interface integer overflow

Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026

Integer overflow in IBM Power Systems Firmware allows local users to gain host control through the BMC/FSP-to-host interface. IBM identifies the affected locus as that interface but has not published the overflowing calculation or the untrusted field that reaches it. Exploitation requires service-account or root access on the BMC/FSP and enables arbitrary host-memory reads and writes, compromising the host and every hosted partition.
