CVE-2026-16763Public exploit

Local command execution via unescaped compose-file interpolation

Published Jul 23, 2026 · Updated Jul 23, 2026

OS command injection in LocalStack serverless-localstack 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4.0 allows local users to execute commands via configuration. The startLocalStack path interpolates custom.localstack.docker.compose_file into a child_process.exec command without escaping or argument separation. Exploitation requires control of Serverless or CI configuration, autostart enabled, and a developer or CI process to invoke the plugin; commands run with that process's privileges.
