Command execution via unquoted branch interpolation
Published Jul 23, 2026 · Updated Jul 23, 2026
OS command injection in Gleb Bahmutov find-cypress-specs 1.54.0 through 1.54.12 allows local users to execute commands via --branch. The Branch Handler interpolates the branch value into git merge-base and git diff command strings that shell.exec passes to the system shell without quoting or neutralizing metacharacters. Exploitation requires control of the CLI argument, a branch name, pull-request ref, or CI environment value and runs commands with the invoking process's privileges.
