Server code execution via unescaped pattern text
Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026
Code injection in Create Block Theme before 2.10.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP through saved pattern text. The pattern export path interpolates unsanitized wp_block body content into a single-quoted PHP string, letting an escaped backslash and quote break out into executable code. Exploitation requires WordPress multisite, an active block theme, and a subsite administrator who is not a super administrator.
