Subscriber-level code execution via incomplete upload filtering
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Arbitrary file upload in CreativeMinds CM Map Locations 2.1.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side code. The uploadMedia handler incompletely filters filename extensions, performs no MIME-type or upload-capability check, and passes attacker-supplied files to move_uploaded_file(). Subscriber-level access is sufficient because the required nonce appears in the CMLOC_Editor_Images object on the front-end location editor.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
