Authenticated code execution via mischecked plugin-install capabilities
Published Aug 21, 2026 · Updated Aug 21, 2026
Improper access control in Dokan before 5.0.14 allows remote authenticated users to install and activate arbitrary WordPress plugins. Four installation paths authorize code installation with manage_woocommerce rather than install_plugins and activate_plugins, including two administrative REST routes. A Shop Manager account and a WordPress REST nonce are sufficient, and onboarding activates attacker-selected repository code on the server.
