Subscriber lesson disclosure via unchecked REST authorization
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
Broken access control in Academy LMS before 3.8.3 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary lesson content through its REST API. The /wp-json/academy/v1/lessons/{id} endpoint returns the requested lesson without checking course enrollment or publication status. A self-registered student account is sufficient to enumerate sequential IDs and read paid or unpublished lesson bodies, while unauthenticated requests are rejected.
