Private gallery comment disclosure via unchecked AJAX action
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Missing authorization in Sunshine Photo Cart before 3.6.12 allows remote attackers to read comments from access-restricted galleries. The sunshine_modal_display AJAX action accepts hook=comments and an imageId, then returns comment HTML after checking only a public front-end nonce rather than gallery access. The plugin must be active with comments on a private, password-protected, or otherwise restricted gallery; no account or gallery password is required.
