Rejected report requiring root privileges
Published Jul 22, 2026 · Updated Jul 22, 2026
Link following in systemd-tmpfiles was rejected because reproducing the reported file redirection requires root privileges. The original report asserted that chase_safe treated root-to-unprivileged ownership transitions as safe, allowing a symbolic link to redirect configured writes. The assigning CNA determined that this behavior is outside the component threat model, so no unprivileged security impact or affected product remains established.
