Browser script execution via unescaped vote label
Published Aug 8, 2026 · Updated Aug 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in Link Library before 7.9.4 allows remote attackers to execute script in a visitor's browser via a crafted vote request. The Thumbs-Rating AJAX vote endpoint inserts the unescaped likelabel parameter into an HTML text node and an onclick attribute. Exploitation requires a logged-out nonce scraped from a public page and a user to visit an attacker-controlled page that submits the request, exposing that user's WordPress-origin data and actions.
