Remote code execution via unauthenticated metric writes
Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026
Missing authentication in PCP pmproxy on affected Red Hat Enterprise Linux releases allows remote attackers to overwrite PMDA metrics. The /store handler passes unauthenticated writes to pmStore; unreachable -S and -Q options and an unrestricted hostspec permit Unix-socket pmcd access that evades IP rules. The service must be running and reachable on TCP 44322 with pmcd active; code execution additionally requires the linux_sockets PMDA.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
