Reflected XSS via unescaped PHP_SELF output
Published Mar 21, 2026 · Updated Mar 21, 2026
Reflected XSS in Comment Genius 1.2.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts in a user's browser through a crafted URL. The cgm-options.php code reflects the request-derived $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] value into HTML without sanitizing the input or escaping the output. Exploitation requires a user to follow the attacker-controlled link; the resulting script runs in the affected WordPress site's security context.
