CVE-2026-16456Network attack vector

Cross-namespace secret disclosure via unvalidated CRD namespace

Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Confused-deputy access in Red Hat OpenShift AI allows remote authenticated users to read secrets from other namespaces via custom resources. The odh-model-controller loadSecret function trusts a user-controlled Secret namespace while using its cluster-wide access, so it retrieves data outside the requester's namespace. Exploitation requires permission to create the relevant custom resources and exposes API keys, cloud credentials, and other stored secrets without changing them.
