CVE-2026-16444Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Arbitrary file write via unsanitized remote filenames

Published Aug 26, 2026 · Updated Aug 26, 2026

Path traversal in TeamViewer Desktop Clients before 15.81.5 allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary local files. During file transfer or virtual file clipboard use, the receiving client creates a remote peer-supplied filename without sanitizing traversal sequences. A remote session participant must induce file receipt and user interaction is required; the write uses the affected user's privileges and enables code execution when a suitable destination is targeted.
