Unauthenticated cross-origin data access
Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026
Same-origin policy bypass in Firefox and Thunderbird before 153 allows remote attackers to access cross-origin data through DNS handling. Mozilla identifies the Networking: DNS component but has not published the flawed DNS operation or the input that triggers the origin-validation failure. The issue is remotely reachable without authentication or user interaction; ESR releases before 140.13 are also affected, with no reported service interruption.
