CVE-2026-16316

Partial alert interruption via malformed SV frames

Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026

Improper input validation in OMICRON StationGuard 4.00 allows remote attackers on an adjacent network to interrupt SV alert processing. The IEC 61850 Sampled Values frame processor fails to reject a specially crafted malformed frame before processing it, causing its process to terminate. Access to the monitored network is required; the process restarts automatically, while overall availability and other traffic processing remain unaffected.
