Account takeover via public password-reset nonce
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
Missing authorization in ChamaWP before 1.0.13 allows remote attackers to reset any WordPress user's password over the network. The automatically created /reset-password/ page discloses a nonce to anonymous visitors, and the reset handler accepts it with an arbitrary login name and attacker-selected password without a valid reset key. No authentication is required; knowledge of an enumerable administrator login is enough to replace its password and gain full site access.
