Unauthenticated site takeover via trusted role input
Published Aug 2, 2026 · Updated Aug 2, 2026
Privilege escalation in POUCO Import Users 1.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to create an administrator account via AJAX. Unauthenticated account-management handlers omit capability and nonce checks, then apply an attacker-supplied role value without authorization. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the resulting administrator account grants full control of the WordPress site.
