Unauthenticated file deletion via unchecked signature path
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
Path traversal in Strategy11 Formidable Digital Signatures 3.0.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete server files. The delete_file function accepts the attacker-controlled item_meta[field_id][content] filename without restricting deletion to the active entry's signature files. Exploitation requires an entry-creation POST to a form accepting anonymous submissions and the delete_saved_image flag; deletion is limited to files writable by the web server process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
