Unauthenticated account takeover via arbitrary user ID
Published Aug 15, 2026 · Updated Aug 15, 2026
Authorization bypass in ThemetechMount TrueBooker 1.2.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to take over WordPress accounts. The unauthenticated add_front_user_update AJAX handler accepts an arbitrary truebooker_wp_user_id and passes it to wp_update_user without authentication or ownership checks. Attackers can replace any user's email address, including an administrator's, then receive the native password-reset link and assume control of that account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
