Author-level content deletion via unchecked AJAX handler
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
Missing authorization in Contest Gallery before 30.0.7 allows remote authenticated users to permanently delete arbitrary WordPress content. The post_cg_youtube_delete_from_library AJAX handler accepts attacker-chosen post IDs and deletes them without per-object capability or nonce checks. Author-level access is required, and successful requests permanently remove posts, pages, or other content owned by other users.
