Unauthenticated review creation via missing ownership checks
Published Aug 7, 2026 · Updated Aug 7, 2026
Missing authorization in MStore API before 4.21.0 allows remote attackers to create WooCommerce product reviews without purchase ownership. The REST product-review creation route accepts attacker-chosen reviewer identity, email, rating, and text without authorization or purchase-ownership checks. The bypass matters on verified-owner-only stores; reviews remain unverified and are held unless moderation settings permit immediate publication.
