Remote service crash via unchecked symbolic length
Published Jul 17, 2026 · Updated Jul 17, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in CIPster commit 632336d414ef708a542377c1aa8d6fdb7c70a760 allows remote attackers to crash an ASan-enabled sample adapter. CipAppPath::deserialize_symbolic copies a segment-declared symbol length from the remaining BufReader without first confirming that enough bytes remain. The unconnected SendRRData path requires no authentication; reliable termination was demonstrated only with AddressSanitizer, and no write primitive was shown.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
