Administrator-session script execution via unsanitized subscriber name
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in wp.insider Simple Membership before 4.7.8 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in an administrator session. The PayPal payment-notification handler stores an unsanitized subscription subscriber-name value, and the administration dashboard renders that value without output escaping. No authentication is required to submit the payment approval request, but an administrator must open the affected dashboard view before the script runs.
