CVE-2026-15920Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unvalidated admin URL links

Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026

Stored XSS in Django 5.2 before 5.2.17 and 6.0 before 6.0.8 allows remote attackers to target staff through unsafe URLField data. django.contrib.admin.utils.display_for_field renders a stored URLField value as a clickable link without validating its scheme, allowing JavaScript or data URLs to execute when clicked. Exploitation requires unvalidated data to reach the database outside a ModelForm or admin write path and a staff user to click the link on a changelist or read-only admin page.
