Command execution via unsanitized npm package specifier
Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026
OS command injection in AWS jsii-diff before 1.131.0 allows context-dependent attackers to execute commands via npm package specifiers. The npm: loader embeds the package-specifier portion in a shell command without neutralizing metacharacters, so a semicolon starts an additional command. Control of a jsii-diff command-line argument and active execution by another user or process are required, and injected commands inherit the tool's permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
