Heap exhaustion in Zephyr RTOS 3.5.0 through 4.4.1 allows remote attackers to interrupt device services via rejected SMP settings requests. The settings_mgmt_read(), settings_mgmt_write(), and settings_mgmt_delete() handlers return directly after access-hook rejection, bypassing cleanup of heap-allocated request buffers. Exploitation requires reachable SMP, heap-backed settings buffers, the access hook, and MGMT_CB_ERROR_RC rejection; repeated requests exhaust memory until reboot without corruption or disclosure.
