Unauthenticated stored XSS via page_uri override
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Stored XSS in WP Statistics for WordPress through 14.16.8 allows remote attackers to execute script in analytics pages via utm_campaign. The public /wp-statistics/v2/hit REST endpoint accepts a base64-encoded page_uri that overwrites the sanitized REQUEST_URI path, and the plugin later reads utm_campaign from that unsanitized query string and stores it for visitor and referral reports. Because the endpoint's required signature is exposed on the public homepage, no authentication is needed to plant the payload; execution occurs when a user opens the affected analytics views.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
