Stored XSS via unescaped form-field post metadata
Published Jul 29, 2026 · Updated Jul 29, 2026
Stored XSS in Contact Form to Any API 3.0.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through post metadata. The AJAX form-field builder renders attacker-controlled cf7anyapi_form_field post-meta values into HTML attributes without esc_attr() or esc_html() output escaping. Contributor-level access is required, and the script runs in the browser of any user who opens the affected page, allowing actions within that user's WordPress session.
