Local command execution via shell-wrapper blacklist bypass
Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
OS command injection in Picobot 0.1 and 0.2.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary commands through the built-in exec tool. ExecTool.Execute checks only the outer program and simple path markers before passing array arguments to exec.CommandContext, so sh -c or env bash -lc hides an unchecked shell payload. Standard agent use registers the tool by default; commands run as the Picobot process account and can read, alter, or delete accessible host data.
