Prototype pollution via unsanitized select alias paths

Published Jul 13, 2026 · Updated Jul 13, 2026

Prototype pollution in TanStack DB 0.6.0 through 0.6.8 allows remote authenticated users to modify Object.prototype via crafted select aliases. The select compiler splits dotted alias keys and walks their segments into the result object without rejecting proto, prototype, or constructor. Exploitation requires an application path that lets remote authenticated users influence a select alias; successful use changes shared prototype state and can corrupt application logic.
