Authenticated authorization bypass via unnormalized URI matching

Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Authorization bypass in affected Red Hat products allows remote authenticated users to access policy-denied resources through crafted URIs. PathMatcher compares URI segments lexically without normalization, so a trailing slash or matrix parameter misses an exact protected-resource match and selects a broader permissive fallback. Low-privilege authentication and a vulnerable Authorization Services policy are required; successful requests can disclose or alter protected resources.
