Pre-authentication denial of service via length overflow
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
Integer overflow in jboss-remoting in Red Hat JBoss EAP allows remote attackers to exhaust server memory before authentication. MessageReader adds four to an attacker-controlled signed message length without rejecting overflow, so the wrapped value drives repeated out-of-memory errors on an XNIO I/O thread. Reachability of ports 8080, 9990, or 4447 and completion of an Upgrade: jboss-remoting handshake are required; exploitation severely degrades HTTP, EJB, and JMS requests server-wide.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
