Unsafe deserialization in Yash Bhalgat HashNeRF-pytorch allows local users to execute code by supplying a malicious checkpoint. In run_nerf.py, checkpoint selection accepts --ft_path or discovered tar-named files and passes ckpt_path to unconstrained torch.load before validating checkpoint contents. Exploitation requires influence over a checkpoint consumed by a user or automated workflow, and code runs with the training or rendering process's OS privileges.
