Code execution via pre-validation model deserialization
Published Jul 13, 2026 · Updated Jul 13, 2026
Unsafe deserialization in Yue Zhao PyOD 3.5.0 through 3.6.1 allows attackers to execute code through an untrusted model artifact. pyod.utils.persistence.load calls joblib.load before envelope, schema, dependency-version, or strict-mode checks, so pickle reducers run first. Execution requires an application to load an attacker-controlled or untrusted artifact and occurs with the loading Python process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
