CVE-2026-15527Public exploit

Local file read and modification via unconstrained path

Published Jul 13, 2026 · Updated Jul 13, 2026

Path traversal in Better Auth Better Icons 1.0.0 through 1.0.5 allows local users to read or modify process-accessible files. scan_project_icons and sync_icon pass the caller-supplied icons_file path directly into file reads and writes without canonicalization or project-root confinement. Access requires the ability to invoke the MCP tools; reads disclose only matching icon definitions, while sync_icon creates or rewrites files writable by the server process.
