CVE-2026-15526Public exploit

Local file disclosure via unconstrained dependency path

Published Jul 13, 2026 · Updated Jul 13, 2026

Path traversal in augmnt augments-mcp-server 7.1.0 allows local users to read files accessible to the server process. scanProjectDeps passes the caller-controlled packageJsonPath directly to readFile without rejecting absolute paths or traversal, then returns parsed dependency data or raw parse-error fragments. Access to the local stdio MCP server is required; readable JSON content can be exposed in results, while non-JSON files can leak content fragments and existence.
