CVE-2026-15520Public exploit

Heap corruption via shrunken decompression buffer

Published Jul 13, 2026 · Updated Jul 13, 2026

Heap-based buffer overflow in GNU Project LibreDWG 0.13.4-154-g0b573035 allows local users to corrupt memory via a malformed R2004 DWG file. read_2004_compressed_section overwrites dec.size with a smaller per-section value, letting bit_chain_alloc shrink dec.chain while decompression retains offsets based on the larger logical stream. A local user must cause a LibreDWG reader or converter to process the crafted file; the resulting out-of-bounds write crashes the process and corrupts adjacent heap data.
