Authenticated configuration tampering via unchecked JSON-RPC method
Published Jul 12, 2026 · Updated Jul 12, 2026
Improper authorization in Leantime 3.0 through 3.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter global settings through JSON-RPC. The Setting::saveSetting method accepts arbitrary key-value pairs from any authenticated role and persists them to the zp_settings table without an administrator authorization check. A read-only account is sufficient to overwrite instance-wide company, integration, mail, feature, and telemetry configuration.
