Authenticated sidecar code execution via environment override
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Incorrect privilege assignment in Red Hat OpenShift AI allows remote authenticated users to execute code in LMEvalJob sidecar containers. The LMEvalJob controller filters protected remote-code environment variables from the main evaluation container but appends user-supplied sidecars without applying the same filter. Any authenticated cluster user can set TRUST_REMOTE_CODE in a sidecar and run untrusted model code there, affecting data accessible to that container.
